Individual Tax Registration - Documents Required

In order for us to successfully register you as a taxpayer , we require the following documents:


1. ID Copy

If it is a smart ID we will require a copy of front and back of the smart ID card


2. Proof of address not older than 3 months

Examples of proof of address include municipal, telephone, medical aid and retail store account statements


3. Proof of banking details

Original letter from bank (Bank stamped) not older than one month (30 days), confirming the account holder’s legal name; account number, account type; branch code and the date on which the account was opened;


or


Original bank stamped bank statement or ATM / Internet generated statement or an eStamped statement not more than three months old that confirms the account holder’s legal name, bank name, account number, account type and branch code.



* If the wife/husband does not have a bank account and chooses to use his/her spouse’s banking details, a certified copy of the marriage certificate is required.


4. Picture of individual taxpayer holding ID and page with the words "please update my details".

Both ID and page must be clearly visable
